Get Involved!
Rivers Unlimited is pleased to provide and fun and fulfilling outlet for volunteers wishing to help protect their watersheds. Currently, the following kinds of people are needed as volunteers:
- Adopters for our "Adopt-a-Stream program. Become the designated steward of your favorite stretch of stream, recieve training, supplies for cleanups, and your name on a sign along the river.
- River enthusiasts who would like to become involved in our work to get the Ohio Department of Natural Resources to designate an official water trail along the Great Miami River.
- Pilots who want to fly pollution surveillance missions over rivers and streams
- Photographers to photograph streams on aerial surveillance missions.
- People who simply have a passion for rivers and streams and want to get involved.
- People interested in being watchdogs, to make sure regulations are enforced.
To get involved, you can either meet with us one-on-one at the office or come to a Volunteer Committee meeting.
The Rivers Unlimited Volunteer Committee meets once a month at a rotating location, often a coffee shop, park or other inviting location.
